I remember Aramis - very strong. Two Avon smellies were Tasha and To a Wild Rose - information hot off the press from an ex Avon rep. Old Avon bottles are apparently very collectable - lots on E Bay.

It is surprising what you can still get - lots of websites doing the old perfume and aftershave. Think we will have to put some samples out for soul nights at bridgwater and see if we can guess which is which.

Great choice Mart - 4711 first created in 1792 and still going today. I remember it well. This is getting harder now - any one else got a memory smells from the 60's and 70's.

Well actually I have been proved wrong with the Old Spice - two people have admitted to wearing it having had it in their Christmas stocking!

Just had an E mail from Karen Bridges (aka Soulgirl) who has reminded me about Blue Grass by Elizabeth Arden. I had forgotten about this one but the smell was wonderful. It could cover up the smell of sneaky smoking like a treat! I believe they also did the men's aftershave but I never saw that one.

Well i don't think anyone can remember the rest. The ones I have that have not been put up yet are. Hartnell - In Love (this reminds me of my mum), Bourgois - Evening in Paris, Helena Rubenstein - Apple Blossom and Coty l'Aimant. No more mens ones?

If only they would have had Tesco Blue stripe back then

I use Febreze. If i say, "une bouffee d'air frais", does that make it sound a bit posher?

Wondered why you were always so fragrant Mike. Now Sumo has got me worried as I have never heard of Blue stripe - its not lager is it Sumo. Now how about hint of Stowford Press in a bottle, lovely.
