In the words of Frankie Valli - OH WHAT A NIGHT!
Rammed!! - The increasingly popular Motown and Old Soul nights @ Riverside never dissapointed the masses again , on what was a pretty crap night weatherwise , folks turned out early and left late with a smile on their faces and still dancing to the exits to get their taxis!
Kicking off Martin and John mixed up the sounds of Stax , Atlantic and Motown - a hard slot this at the best of times but competing with the happy hour at the bar makes it harder , so well done guys for a great start .
Enter Reid to stamp his unique style on the evening with another great selection of top choons! By this point Sue was running to her record box and rearranging her playlist!
Doing the hour and a half slot from 10.30 til midnight Sue kept the floor rammed with classics, obscurities and requests(soz she didnt have CAR WASH ) but if thats what folks want , she'll have it for the next one!
Mike played the last two hours double decking with Sue for the final half hour and as usual at the Motown Nights added a sprinkling of Northern , R n B alongside club classics and old soul.
We've had texts and phone calls this morning from folks saying how much they enjoyed the night and whens the NEXT ONE!
For folks that have not been before, take a look at one of these nights @ Riversidesoul , you won't be dissappointed.
There is some big thanks to be put out not just for the DJs but for the great door staff , ticket sellers , promoters and of course our host Mike E, not forgetting the folks for your support!- but personally I think a big thanks has to go to the girls that were on their night off and celebrating their birthday in the club , rolled their sleeves up and helped behind the bar when it was really busy - top marks to all the bar staff , they keep the VERY thirsty punters going all night!
Few photos will be posted on here later but for all photos, playlists and future dates checkout www.riversidesoul.co.uk
For photos and playlists for last night this may take a few days to get on the website(mainly 'cus our computers on a GO SLOW )
