I have just been TOLD! Im playing in my Uncles Presidents side @ cricket on the 23 aug!
I havent played in 10 years due to well everything really! Size,bad eyesight,old age(lol)
I suppose as my Dads playing and hes 68 , my uncles 65 , I cant moan .
Any sporting retirement or reversal stories anyone?

I'm not laughing at you Sumo, I'm laughing with you. Or it may be just a case of 'laughing instead of crying'. Now I'm not a 'sporty' person in any way shape or form, in fact I gave up snooker and took up pool instead because it was less distance to walk around the table. However, on Sunday 24th Aug I am playing netball  Womans netball team, 'The Hellcats' have challenged 'The Devil may care chap' mens Netball squad. The strange thing is that the Devil may care team does not exist......a friend of mine made it up and bragged that his team could beat the girls  Now he is running around gathering mates to form a team to meet the challenge. This is going to be fun as i cant walk too far without a stick at the moment........and i will be wearing one of those St Trinian-type skirts ;D ...and before you ask Damon....yes i will post pictures up mike |

I hope you have more luck than I did, I got drafted into a works cricket team because I used to play a lot when younger, I managed to get out first ball and was then banished to the boundary and spent all sodding afternoon running around to stop runs and off the last ball they needed a four to win and I threw myself in the path of a shot and nearly broke my fingers... but we won, oh and I couldn't walk for a few days:-) Have fun Cheers Steve |
