Although many of the Dorset gang were doing Peterborough, Notts Palais and of course Wigan, most of us really enjoyed what was a unique atmosphere at Yate
Here's a few photos to get started, I have more somewhere, when I dig em out I'll scan them in too
First up, the obligatory Pub visit on the way up
From left to right, Smiler, Mark 'Harry' Harris and Pete Kitching. This would have been Dec of 79

Haha, forgot about that, it was actually a blown tyre on my Cortina on the Peterborough trip, what a nightmare trying to get somewhere that had a tyre on a sunday morning The Mini bus breakdown was Wigan, one of those Parsons transport things, cuz by then most of the Poole gang had stopped doing Niters and we only had enough for a mini bus. On this occasion my brother was on the trip and I seem to recall a young man helping him open the vending machines and we all stuffed our bags with goodies. But then the cops turned up and wondered what the hell we were doing in a Service station that time of night. I remember sitting on the bonnet of their car with Smiler trying to keep warm and telling them a couple of football fan coaches were in earlier and how they trashed the vending machines and chased us away ;D Then someone turned on a tape and we were all dancing round the car park till they fixed the bus and finally got to Wigan around 2.00 Ah happy days Cheers Steve Ps Yep Harry is still around, lives in Wool and works in a Bakery, but not into the Scene anymore although he says he likes the music and loves the memories of those days

I know I wasn't aware (or really didn't care) where I was most of the time, as long as there was Northern being played; but are you sure these pictures are of Yate Steve? It just looks all wrong to be Yate or is it just because it was held at two different venues
