I have recieved a pm asking me
I did not see that it was a relevant question to answer as the site was set up for the South West soulies; covering Dorset, Devon & Cornwall. Therefore it is OUR site.
However, I was informed that it is has been a topic of conversation and some think I 'own' it. I have been asked to post a reply to satisfy peoples 'need to know'
Here ya go then.
Are you sitting comfortably?
True Story:
I was asked to put on soul nites in Plymouth a couple of years ago. After some digging around to find bods to DJ I was given Pips No. He DJ'd for me and got the bug back after being out of scene for a while. Pip being Pip, doesn't do things by half and started talking to me about setting up a website - complete with forums etc.
I started thinking of what benifit another soul site would have, & would people use it
The first two nights that I put on was heavily advertised - over a fairly long period of time - including advertising on all the major soul sites. Despite this fact, drawing near to our nights, other events were then arranged which clashed with the Plymouth nights. With this in mind, I encouraged Pip in HIS venture, saying that it would be a good way of bringing the south west together & ensuring we all knew what was going on & when - thus avoiding clashes of nights. It would also be a good way of getting the info about events in the south west to the SW soulies - despite heavy advertising some people claimed after the event that they would have attended if they knew it was on!!
All credit goes to Pip who went off and used his time and technical skills to develope what you see today - www.southwestsoulclub.com
I believe I was made a member of staff due to my encouragement in establishing the site? That is my only involvement - I do not own this site as some may believe.
I hope this answers the queries as to 'who is behind this site?'
As to the other qestion, 'who does the site belong to?'
P.S. grockles welcome ;D
WHO IS BEHIND THIS SITE
&
WHO DOES IT BELONG TO
