Same here the organisors want to be very proud of the doo they threw last night the atmosphere from beggining to end was on par with some of the top niters in this country which is a hard thing to acheive when its a Soul night, but in my honest opinion it was acheived, and everyone i spoke to agreed on how great the venue was and the atmosphere it genarated the dj's kept the floor flowing with across the board soul keeping everyone entertained and the dancefloor buzzing allnight! hats off to all involved, and i cant wait for the next one Well done Exeter Soul Club Also must add, thank you to all the forum users that made the effort to attend last night, and great to put some faces to names @ last ;D and glad its doing its job and and bringing folk in the southwest together

We both had a great time, what a superb night. ;D ;D Great mix of music, quality DJ's, nice not to see an empty floor. Thanks to Ken from Cardiff for 'Knick Knack' seemed a popular spin for an R&B track

Enjoyed the night, i was like a teenager saturday night, a whirling dervish on the dance floor, today i feel like im an old age pensioner, legs are buggered, and im out of breath walking to the kitchen think my bodys telling me something, which its been doing for a few years now, and ive ignored, but i am going to have to do something, think a more sedate night out, where i go out looking all tidy and fresh and come home the same just sit and listen and have a few drinks...... nice to see my freinds, and catch up.

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone that attended on Saturday night, there was a fantastic atmosphere and I thought that the djs played superbly-i haven't danced so much in years. The next date is June the 30th (day before the smoking ban!!). We may get the opportunity to start in the afternoon out on the terrace in the sun-what are the thoughts on this? Going to speak to the manager this week. Once again many thanks. X

Thank you Pip you are a true gent! I'm not good with the computer stuff but I'm sure Lloydee will email you the flyers when they are done. Definately have you doing a spot if you don't mind, we have names for June (in the evening) but i'll speak to Tracey about the following event if that's ok.

Hi Dave, we did an all dayer a few weeks ago 1pm-1am, soul, northern and modern, ska, reggae, proper disco with two rules defo No funk and all vinyl! it was a lovely warm sunny day and everyone was out on the terrace. The Blockheads were playing in the main room in the evening. We gave everyone hour slots. We didn't want any money for the all dayer as we did it just to see how it would turn out. Would love to do an Exeter Soul all dayer and will be speaking to Pat tomorrow night who runs The Phoenix. Most definately keep you in mind to do a spot.

Pip, I haven't had time to put a playlist together yet, probably next week the way it's going. Just gotta say it was a top night, thanks for turning out and dancing all night, defiantly think we're on the right road with music policy and perhaps a little more Modern the next time around (if Tony Dowd has anything to do with it!) Cheers Mick
