As we approach our 6th Anniversary in October we had another quality night at the Riverside. A great crowd, especially considering all the other events on. Good to see Joe and Sylvia on their first visit to the Riverside .We were treated to a quality set from our main guests Carl and Maria Willingham. Top tunes and one of my favourites Lester Tipton., also Al Williams, Harvey Averne, Gwen Owens, Joe Jama to mention many top top tunes. Tunes right across the board. Good sets too from Conner Rooney an up and coming local Dj and from leon Brown. Des Parker one of the residents had last minute work issues and was unable to make it. Thanks to Carl and Maria for doing an extra 30m minutes set.
Have been asked the music we play etc. We are essentially a Nothern venue and play Quality Oldies, Upfront and rarities but not afraid to drop anything. for example Maria slotted in Stoned love in between 2 top tunes. I played Georgie Fames version of 'Sweet thing' to a packed floor. Finished off with Harold melvin 'The Love I lost' to a rammed floor. This followed the Moments and betty lloyd. Some of the tunes you will hear from des are Ray Agee, JT Parker(first to break it in area), The Kindly Shephers, Johnny Praye, Judy Street C/U, plus many Cover ups.
if you not been before then consider giving us a try .A smaller intimate venue with a great loyal following as well as attracting many travellers.
Regards
Mike

Well the above certainly gives a flavour of what the expect. I am sure Carl and Maria were delighted to do the extra spot as their passion for the music is wonderful. Great mix of tunes played to please everyone. Did not think that 6 years had passed by - well done with sticking to what your vision for this night was Mike.
