Four of us decided to travel to visit Banbury Soul Club last night as Scotlands No 1 Keith Money (from Dundee) was the guest/star DJ.
Glad that we did, excellent 1st class venue with good sized dance floor area (similar to Weston) and 2 superb DJ slots by Keith. The majority of the records played by Keith in his 2nd slot were 'new' to me so this obviously enhanced the visit.
Good to see handstands making an appearance, as well as spins etc, on the spacious dance floor, well worth a visit if you have not yet attended.
Glos Allnighter coming up this week though.

Glad you liked the description, Ron and pleased that it made you chuckle.
I understand that Keith took a Jet (101) to the event in 'Del Larks' fashion, although may have been 'Out of the "in" crowd with the remainder of your mid 70's crew Ron (hope you enjoyed that one also Ron- ha ha...).
Although he was invited by Banbury Soul Club, Keith may have also heard that there was a 'Job Opening' (for an experienced heart mender)- ha ha... I love the 'one liners' and shall endeavour to add more...
However, leaving the one liners to one side Ron..... I enjoyed talking with Keith during the evening and had some interesting conversations about past times such as Broughty Ferry (Just love the place and others in Scotland), Football (in particular, the one and only 'Celtic' as well as the other team in Glasgow that are about 21 points behind at present, ...and Dundee/Dundee Utd of course).
Banbury was enjoyable, enhanced by 'Scotland's number 1 DJ' of course Ron, and is well worth a visit. There were some cracking records for sale also on the night that we visited and the TOP team (Team of Paignton) should indeed make an attendance at Banbury at some point in the future.
I agree with your sentiments about Bridgewater/Weston Event (at which Keith Money is going to attend) What a super line up and a great addition to Pete Lyster, Mike Eskins, DJ Dean, Des Parker and the mighty Moldie..... 'original Vinyl only'
Hopefully catch up with you at Glos Allnighter Ron.
Best wishes Barry

The description in the final paragraph sounds like the legendary ex darts player 'Jocky Wilson' doing the highland fling, Ron.
I am sure that the Ferry has been developed over the years, but hopefully it is still as quaint and lovely a place as ever.
Shall say hi to you at Glos later Ron, safe journey to you and the crew from the TOP Team.
