AFTER A FEW GLITCHES WITH THE SOUND THE EVENING IN MY OPINION GAVE EVERYONE MUSIC WISE AN ACCROSS THE BOARD EXPERIENCE. WELL DONE TO PIP WITH HIS SETS. HOPEFULLY MARTIN WILL CONTINUE THIS EVENT AS THE VENUE IS GREAT BUT NEEDS MORE PEOPLE IN ATTENDANCE TO GIVE A GOOD VIBE TO THE NIGHT. THIS WILL MEAN GETTING PEOPLE TO TRAVEL FROM FURTHER AFIELD - I AM SURE MARTIN WILL COME UP WITH A PLAN.

In addition to previous comments that I made within the 'Events' section reviewing Weston 'Going to a happening' I believe that the finer parts of the evening were (a) seeing the flyers for some forthcoming soul nights, in particular at Bridgwater inc Pete Lysters 60th etc to be held on 14th Jan 2012. The Bridgwater flyer features The American Poets 'She blew a good thing', which is amongst my all time Northern Soul favourites (and probably not alone here), great stuff! (b) Pips intro spot and record selection, and also, the final DJ Pete French's awesome selection. I can't wait to hear what else Pete has to play to keep the faithful on the dancefloor. All in all, 'friendly people and top drawer', congratulations again to all event organisers/promoters and Dj's.

GLAD YOU ENJOYED THE NIGHT - YES AMERICAN POETS ONE OF MY FAVOURITES AS WELL - ONE OF THE GREAT SONGS THAT GOT ME INTO THE SCENE. PUT A POSTER UP OF THE FLIER AND WITHIN A FEW MINUTES IT WAS GONE. IF YOU WOULD LIKE ONE WITHOUT THE ADVERTISING STRIP JUST LET ME KNOW.

Yes please, it would be great to receive a poster without the advertising showstopper ('whoever you are' - ha ha! I liked that one and Pete's reply). Any chance of one of the DJ's playing the record at Bridgwater, or indeed playing Diane Payne - 'what side your bread is buttered on', Len Barry - 'I struck it rich', Charlie Whitehead - 'I finally found myself something to sing about' or Judy Harris - 'You Touched me' as although I am only able to listen to these on cd's I have not heard these played for some time at an event. Hopefully one of the top DJ lads/lasses have an original copy or two to put on the decks. Many thanks my dear showstopper.
