WELL AFTER EATING MY OWN BODY WEIGHT IN CHINESE WE ARRIVED AT THE NITER - COUPLE OF PINTS LATER AND SEEING A FEW FRIENDS WE WENT UPSTAIRS - LISTENED TO A FEW UNUSUAL TUNES AND THEN BACK DOWNSTAIRS TO SEE CARL AND MARIA HAD ARRIVED - FAST FORWARD TWO HOURS TALKING ABOUT MANKY MONKEYS (PEEPS FROM MANCHESTER) AND OBSCURE RECORDS WE ARE CHASING - THERE IS ALLWAYS ONE JUST OUT OF REACH, WE GOT IN THE DANCING MOOD - SOME PEOPLE HAD ALREADY LEFT SO SORRY I DIDN'T GET A CHANCE TO SAY HELLO. DANCED LIKE THE DEVIL FOR A FEW HOURS AND THEN WENT HUNTING THE TAXI LEAVING AROUND 4.45. GREAT NIGHT MUSICALLY CARL AND MARIA DID IT FOR ME AS YOU KNOW I LIKE MY RARE AND UNDERPLAYED. SEE YOU ALL OUT AND ABOUT AND IF NOT AT THE NEXT NITER.

Thanks for opening the thread Cathy.
A great night with travellers from all over the UK, including as far away as Edinburgh. Impressed by the Scottish lady, sorry forgot your name (but we spoke about my navy days in Rosyth and fond memories of Rose Street in the Burgh) who danced continually throughout Des and I's set in Room 2. Hope you had good journey up the motorway network. Considering other events, both nationally and locally a good turnout. Fair play to those of you who braved the torrential rain coming up from Wales and the South. So much for the Drought Good day to announce it .
Main room IMO went well and pleased that Room 2 is building nicely. Thanks to all of theDJ's for their respective sets and the team overall. To Des for his fatherly overseeing of the TOD room . Many thanks for the kind comments so far .
The highlight of the night, for me was the last hour with Des and Dave Abbott double decking. Absoluely awesome. Floor packed and folk would still be dancing now if I let them play on. Some of my favourite tunes lncluded, soul Inc, Intensions, Ray Agee, Clarence Townsend to mention many including some of Des's cover ups.
Regards
Mike

after a mad drive up the m5 doing 40mph in torrential hailstones we were glad to arrive at the niter. Tunes being played had me dancing as soon as my coat was off!! Wotton Hall is such a fantastic venue, wish we had one like that down in the deep south west. Well done mike, you always put on a good show and it is hard work getting soul nights organised. We had a great night and I especially enjoyed watching a couple of dancers who enterained me with the old kung-foo moves. loved it!!
