Just woke after three nights of very little sleep and can feel the RATTLER haze wearing off. After arriving just as the royal wedding finished we checked in lugging enough records to start a shop into the room. We went looking for the first pint only to find most of the bars chock a block. After finding a great spot - Harbour Inn - watching the seals and being fed and watered we got back to the venue and into the 'Meet and Greet' - lots of new faces this year and lots who had travelled a long way. The party started and went on until 4am. Woke Saturday feeling rather delicate and after food and a walk we all got into the taxi heading for Fistral for the afternoon session - the sun shone and it was a great afternoon, Rattler and a huge pasty keeping me going. The good Doctor and Lou treated us to some lovely fish sitting by the harbour watching the seals following the fishing boats and we had to get a wriggle on as Chris was DJing soon - after a quick change the night was in full swing. The music was outstanding and Ady Croesdell surpassed himself - before I knew it the night came to an end and we headed for bed only to wake early by the rain. As the Sunday chill out session was at Lusty Glaze in the Marquee we were hoping it would stop raining - fed watered and prayers answered the afternoon was soon in full force. A few had gone back home by the Sunday night but still enough people to have a great last night party. Thank you to all the people we met new and old that made the week-end great - you know who you are. Not sure if Pete and Mart will be allowed onto the golf course again as they spent most of their time in the bunkers. Next weekender is at the end of September - beginning of October - SOULVATION.BIZ - just what you need before the winter arrives. For me the quality of music by all the DJ's was outstanding. Hope the Mick H group had a good charity event on the Sunday and Ady, Donna and Sonny managed to get their Bank Holiday train back to London. Also I think there may have been a ghost in the next room as I heard a tapping on the wall - or could it have been some old soulies!! Cannot comment on the modern room as I only spent about 15 minutes in there. Also did not have any food at the hotel due to not being able to get out of bed for breakfast and eating cream teas before dinner. Maybe those who went could give Neil some feedback which helps to make the next event even better. There are new owners at The Cliffdene who have started the refurbishment. Hope to see a few of you at the next one.
