Well if Carlsberg made northern soul nights it would be Torquay last night. What a great night we had - the music was outstanding, venue and equipment first class, drink flowed and the soul family partied. Loved the way all the DJ's worked closely together to compliment each other. What a friendly well behaved crowd and I managed to speak to most people which was easy to do in this intimate venue. Just driving down the motorway going home a car passed us with a Bridgwater flier stuck up at the window - now you don't see that very often - wait a minute it was Dave and Matt fresh from their sleepover and breakfast. Well done Rob and Steph on another successful event. Looking forward already to next year.

Thanks Cathy for starting this thread and your glorious comments. It seems everyone had a fantastic time. This change of venue was a gamble for us as the Livermead Hotel has a great ballroom and huge dancefloor, but extortionate drinks prices and large room hire cost. The staff at the Bancourt couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, so well done Ryan and staff there. I would like to say a massive thank you to Pete, Chris, Ady and Dave who did such a fantastic job, keeping the floor going and entertaining everyone. You were all great! Thank you to everyone who travelled to attend and help make last night special. Great atmosphere. Its was great to see Sylvia & Joe down from Barnstaple (cathy shoe-horned them out for this one!) and Ian and Mel from RAF Lyneham. Thank you too to all the regulars and serial-soulies from Plymouth and Torbay (good luck Sheena with your sponsored walk!) Also many thanks to Tony Bowd, who travelled all the way from Looe, without who there would be nothing to play any records on. Watch this space for the next 'For Dancers Only'!

First of all I'd like to say a big thank you to Steph for asking me to dj.Really appreciated it.Made the journey down from Bournemouth via Trowbridge with Matt.Settled in at hotel and then off into Torquay for some food. Not changed too much since I was last down. Just getting ready when phone went and it was Steph asking if I could come down earlier as people were arriving early.Soon got down and kicked off with The Rivingtons - You're Gonna Pay.Then played a few that I normally play early doors at The Uni. Did my second set to a packed and appreciative dancefloor. All the other guys - Pete,Ady & Dr P. played some cracking sets. If you're from the area or fancy travelling down then the next night should not be missed. Ps - It was us Cathy with the flyer.Pete said he was after a couple to put up on way back at Rugby club but passing them over at 70mph on the M5 may have gotten us nicked!!! Dave.

The details for the next 'For Dancers Only' are being finalised at the moment and Steph. will start a thread under events on here with the date of the next event. The only other event I know of will be the Torquay weekender which I believe to be 13th, 14th 15th May and not the 21st as posted on Soul Source. Hope that helps.
