Just wondering how the smoking ban will affect the 'northern scene' will people stay home, or go outside for a smoke ?
As a promoter , I am interested in your feedback on this subject,
Could venues provide bus shelter style cover, or is this deemed as being unnacceptale, or even ILLEGAL
I am a non smoker, always have been and put up with the smoke when i go out, i will enjoy the smoke free atmosphere, and i may go out more , thats my personal view only

The government are cutting off their nose to spite their face! It's a violation of human rights unless they make tobacco illegal. Having said that, I couldn't give a toss about no-smoking venues - it's the music that matters

i was a bad bad chain smoker since the age of 12 uptill 2 yrs ago since i gave up,ive been no-fitter, plus ive put that much weight on its bloody embarasing and first year i was more ill than i ever was but i must admit i dont miss it,but im not one of these folk to say 'oi you you should'nt smoke' to anyone as everyone has a choice the only places i agree of having non-smoking is actualy inside a hospital, and near food preparation areas etc i reckon places should have seperate areas for smoking and non-smoking then both are happy in my eyes Venues going non-smoking,it will take a bit to police i reckon, but as i say i dont smoke no more so id be o.k but i do feel for folk who do smoke But as said before if your going for the music ;D youd go and smoke on the roof if asked

Don't think it will be difficult to police pip, the owners of the venues will be fined heavily for allowing anyone to smoke on their premises, after the initial soft approach they will have to abide by the law. I just want everyone to come along and enjoy their night 'soulin' whether they smoke or not, if you are a smoker this means a huge change , and i for one, would like to have something in place to make them more comfortable if they want to have a cig, somewhere dry and warm, but if the concensus is its the music that matters most, which would be brilliant, then i really don't have any concerns
