reading oldsoulies remark about the person nicking drinks reminded me of the minesweeper we had at the Hallmark event (alternative for Opera House) The table I was sat at had 6 of my friends that, like me, do not drink alcohol. Another friend and his partner joined our table (both drinkers). As we were on the floor most of the night, my mates partner was taking every opportunity to take slugs out of each of the glasses on our table I told my friends but suggested we didnt say anything to her.......the reason being that she was getting more " pissed" the more drinks she nicked from us. After a couple of hours she was acting at the 'falling down' stage. It was then that I told her that none of us at that table drank alcoholic drinks and she had in fact been nicking coke, flavoured water, orange juice etc She admited to nicking drinks - but insisted I was a bare faced liar and the glasses must have contained alcohol otherwise she wouldn't be as drunk as she was The power of the placebo effect
