Anybody spotted any decent venues in cornwall ? Mid Cornwall, was thinking Truro way ?
Or closer to Devon border ?
Newquay well established now, may be time to spread out a bit

The best dancehall style venue I think I've seen in Cornwall is the Princess Pavillions, Falmouth : www.carrickleisureservices.org.uk/index.cfm?articleid=17326We've been doing live doos there for years now and it's a great venue with a few issues. Might be a bit big and the licence may be too restrictive. Nice wooden dancefloor though, they've recently installed a sizable Opus PA too. I've considered putting on some live soul events there - I'm pretty sure it would ram out, I know a few people are thinking the same thing.

What a lovely place, Problem is there are only a handful of soulies down that far. But.....I wish you success if you go ahead with live acts

I know someone said not Newquay....but i'm sure trevelgue would be doable in winter....There's a clubhouse with a wooden dance floor i think they do the scooter rally do's in there.

The scooter rally has their do in the Trevelgue in May and is quite well attended. The main room is new, only a couple of years old with 2 bars and there is also a second room upstairs which is used as the northern room. Pip usually djs up there, along with a few others on the scooter scene. Might be worth a look. The site will probably do a good price for caravans off season.
The Princess Pavillions is a good place too, was in there earlier this month. Not too bad for parking, a large car park within 5 mins walk. Lots of b&bs and hotels close by and of corse......TRAGOS. (only joking). ;D

There's a nice little bar tucked above a sixties/seventies type coffee shop in Truro that would benefit from a night of filthy r&b. Not big enough for soul but plenty enough for the few mods in Cornwall.

It would be great just to go along to a real Soul night somewhere in Cornwall, it dos'nt have to be to big and I would love to be able to dust off a few of my oldies and play them again.
