Just seen an old message where you admit to being a member of the newmarket rat and rodents sc. What a blast from the past. I was dragged up in Haverhill and attended my first rally (iow 84) with the rat nd rodents. Still traumatised now as i was the only ever 15 year old, fresh faced mod to be taken away with them. (how my mother cried) ;D Later defectet to the young idea sc based in Norwich, remember them? Anyway pip got our passes sorted for sat night, sorry you wont be there, hope to catch up with you before too long.

Haverhill

i used to live there when i left Skool (Castle Manor Upper School And got into Scooters ;D

i used to be a Little Mod then and the same i was on the back of my mates lammy and we ended up @ a Rat & Rodent Doo,i was amazed at the Crazy,anything goes attitude of them,so that sorted me out and i turned scooterist and rode with them for ages

Used to go over to see the Sudbury Mods all the time and then Always over Cambridge & Bury,used to go with a Lad on my estate in Haverhill called 'Paddy'

in them days 'Murry's' was open,and i could always remember over the road from 'Murry's' there was i Soliciters,or something like that,and there was a Lad who had a Fantastic Mod Scooter always parked outside

Haverhill is where i started my Soul/Scoot history

And im just trying to remember all the Mod lads names i used to hang around with

then i bought my Vespa 90,and moved over to Ely (Cambs) joined the Ely S.C And then got dragged to the Peterborough 'Fleet' niter for the 1st time just as we had the 1st Peterborough Scooter allnighter @ The Wirrina

got hooked on soul,turned Scooterboy and ive still got a Scoot now ;D

Young Idea are still going i talk to some of them that i used to meet when i used to goto the Mod Society rallies in the 80s

Remember the Phsychodots aswell ;D twas such fun on the end of Lowestoft Pier @ the niter watching the Young idea,and the dots having a rumble

i hate to say this matey,but the more i think of my childhood in haverhill and my anisiation to the modscene,you may have been one of the lads i used to know!

i can remember 2 Brothers were big Mods in Haverhill,and we used to have some great times taking over the School disco's and taking the pi$$ out of the Krappa wearing trendy's! ;D

and i can also remember a young'un like me getting into it,sure he was called Trevor! and he was another one where his brother was one of the older Mods maybe?

Also Can remember a little girl called 'Gina' who turned herself into a Modette just so she could hang around this lad called 'Trevor' cos she idealized him ;D

Could be a chance here as im thinking more that we may have known each other when we were young,young mods,maybe wrong but could be as i think more & more ;D

Best mates with rickeii harvey, we were always battling with the jacksons and anyone else that hated us ay the time. The scooter opposite murrys belonged to steve body. :PI remember paddy. he lived on the clements estate and hung around with antony hickey. I was on the doors with the young idea for the georgie fame doo. We were good mates with the psychodots but had a rumble that night as they bottled out after two of us on the doors had shotguns pointed at us by the local hells angels. :oKirt fricker is the only member of the young idea that i can remember. Too much water under the bridge. Left haverhill in 89 when i joined armed forces and very rarely go back, even though i still have family there. Will give you a ring soon. Am down in newquay alot this time of year as daughter likes to surf, maybe meet up and have a proper chat. Take care.

Ricky harvey,he was a lad ;D my inspiration of 'Dont let being outnumbered put you off' ;D
i remember him slapping a few when we had the Kappa wearing trendy lads trying to pull there weight on the estates ;D
i was trying to remember the trendy's we all used to go after,jacksons god i remember them trying to get me and paddy over the yank side of town then it ended up a big set to on the swimming pool side of the town,bloody hell trying to think the names of them 2 estates

remember the yank side of town skool disco's where we all used to take'em over ;D those were the days

it was great in them days as we had such a great scene

if it wasnt for them lot i wouldnt be here now posting this

i rang my mum up yesterday to remind me what estate we lived on cos i just couldnt remember,but yep 'Clements' as i say 'Paddy' & Antony took me under there wing as we were the only mods that estate on that side of town

my mum reminded me of when we all got on the telly (local news) when we had the Clements riots up the shops ;D

me & paddy loved it as we had you lot come and help us out on our trendy/biker estate

always tremember that night,it was great and the night i learnt to scrap and look after myself ;D

Antony & Paddy introduced me music wise to the likes of John Lee Hooker & Robert parker,Jimmy Griff etc,honestly it was them 2 that really did kick my life off,loved to see them now,and let them know hopefully what they did for me ive done to others

i lived a few doors down from 'Paddy'

Last time i saw paddy,i moved from haverhill,after finishing my 2 yr YTS Scheme @ D-Gurteens & Son,
but went back to visit on my 90 special a few months later and picked him up and took him up to Hunstanton,we camped in the skool field ;D someone called the old bill out on us,and i was crapping meself as i only just got my licence,and hadnt passed me test ;D

Last i went to Haverhill visiting on me scoot as everyone moved out
So lost contact with all my moddy childhood freinds

then after a year i turned scooterist,hung around with R/R Then Desert Rats,then moved to Ely joined Ely S.C then went to p/boro Joined Roaming Misfortunes S.C,Then moved to Mansfield & of course joined the Mansfield Monsters!
then started doing the Doors/Sucurity & Dj the Nationals well in them days the NRC Then NSRA
while doing as many niters,every fleet & wirrina from start to finish,the RSG Doo's,CCI Doos (early days) then started really going into the Northern Scene after my old Monsters mate 'Mad Kev' started taking me up to Blackburn,winsford,Palais then got freinds with Chris King,Rob Smith etc and started really going to the niters ;D
then moved here,lost a bit of niter going as didnt know no-one
but then got invited to dj over plymuff by mike and was on the decks with Pete,Jay (Bridgewater) & Mike Cook,then met Tony & Jo (Soulfixins)
then Sean (Ashburton) and Dean,Vette,Soulhooligan,Steve&Kerry,Sam&Ade

Who bless em all ave looked after me and thats why this site is here

Sorry i missed you at Exeter. Having bathroo fitted and loads of other boring stuff going on at the moment. Hope to catch up with you soon. Looks like it all went well, hopefully will be able to do newquay w/ender. Michelle has booked me a room in manchester at the twisted wheel allnighter in sep. Bufday in oct so booked as an early present. ;D(shes a diamond). You know your getting older whenyou have a room booked for an allnighter.
