Right this is probably a realy stupid question but ...... If you are in a position to get a record signed by the original artist would you a) get him to sign the record itself or b) sign the sleeve The reason i ask is that unless you can prove that the "autograph" is the real deal would a scrawl across a reasonably expensive record actually devalue it?

I supose thats one way round it at least you sort of have "proof "its the genuine article what does everyone else think?

I would never deface the record, always do the cover and put the picture with it. Lots of records defaced by people who have signed the record Debs but couldnt have as they were DEAD at the time. Make sure record in an original bag to match record label!
