As always firstly a big thanx to everyone who came to gogo on saturday night. In the 11 months weve played at this venue we've never had under 90 people in and with so much on this weekend i thought this maybe the first despite the quality of guest djs,i neednt have worried once again although down on last month we still got into the 90s.
Despite lower numbers as a lot of the posts on fb are saying you wouldnt have noticed.A bit of a slow start ,infact at one point i could see travellers from all over but hardly any bristolions! but the club AND dancefloor soon filled up and if people werent getting a drink, having a quick smoke or talkin tunes at the bigger than normal record bar with 5 people selling tunes then they were on the dancefloor and why not! The standard of tunes our guests were playing were right up there as expected. After last months mainly funky edged and underplayed guests this month we were entertained and educated aswell in the more rnb side of 60s soul.Lots of big indemanders with whats this killer?and some underplayed classics too...lots of top new tunes in des' set.
So another brilliant nite in fact some were leaving saying it was their best gogo, some new faces and some we hadnt seen in a while..a friendly vibe all night and already looking forward to next months when our guests GREG BELSON and MARC FORREST will be quality but different again,we are our biggest critics and will never get complacent, the support we get is greatly appreciated and sometimes very pleasently suprising to john, nicci and myself like when Katrina and Tez from oxford walked through the doors without telling us they were coming.
So big thanx to all,Des and Mace for playing such great tunes, all from bristol and the travellers from Oxford,Northampton,Coventry,Birmingham,Gloucestershire,Devon, Wales,Warminster,Worcester and Madrid!..obviously not in bristol just for us :-)...apologies if i have forgot anyone
