JUST ARRIVED HOME - LEGS HANGING OFF BUT WHAT A GREAT NIGHT. LOVELY TO CATCH UP WITH FRIENDS. THOUGHT THE CROWD WERE VERY KNOWLEDGABLE AND UP FOR A GREAT TIME, BOUNCERS DID A GREAT JOB AND THE QUALITY OF MUSIC SHONE. GLOUCESTER ALLNIGHTER GOES FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH. DIDN'T GET TO THE 'TON OF DYNAMITE' ROOM SO IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO REVIEW THAT ONE I WOULD BE GRATEFUL. NOW OFF FOR A SLEEP.

Excellent night of top quality music, Mike Eskins has certainly enhanced Gloucestershire's Northern Soul, R&B music scene with first rate DJ's and cutting edge music. Great to hear the many new sounds exhibited by the majority of DJ's at the allnighter, in amongst the 'usual'.
Many years ago the 'Ton of Dynamite' room would have been just the place for using my 'energy consumption', I feel the main room now has this well and truly covered.
Cracking start to the night, danced to end of Sean Chapmans session with much enthusiasm and needed a rest! Visited upstairs TOD room and records for sale (many thanks for the bargain Des) and returned to main room for Messrs Rimmer, Brown, Lyster and the Mighty Moldie.
Great to hear my requests - Mr Soul - what happened to yesterday, Johnny Hunnicut, I'm coming on over... etc, these are always accomodated at SWSC.
Plenty of numbers of people still with lots of energy left to 'Walk with a Winner' at the end of the allnighter.... well done to the Mighty Moldie for a final and well balanced session.
Congratulations to Mike and all for the superb memories.
Best wishes Barry

Our first Saturday night and not sure whether its the start of a regular batch or just the occassional, one, waiting for club to get back to me but they are proving difficult to get final decisions one way or other and will not go into details on a public forum. A great night with numbers at 260, including Dj's. We could not get into the Ton of Dynamite room as the club had booked the upstairs room (see above) after I had booked the event. However, as has been alluded to it some positives came out of it as a lot of people have expressed positives about the build up to 12 with their expectations building as the time got closer to the opening of Room 2. The line up we had from 9 to 12 in the main room was rearranged accordingly. Dean started the night off in perfect style with dance floor packed and the perfect choice of tunes to please everyone knowing that we had the TON crowd present. The 11-12 set from Dave Abbott and Des Parker was the perfect set to set the tone for the transition from Room 1 to Room2. A quality set from 2 Dj s at the top of their game and such fantastic tunes such as; Ray Agee, the Cautions , Soul Inc, The Intensions, J T Parker to mention many. Unfortunately I had to miss the second part of their set as had to set the equipment up in TOD Room. With the help of Adam and Dr. Pickles think we must have broken some records in it taking only about 5 minutes to set up.
Sean Chapman took over at 12 in main room and kicked off with some top nighter tunes to set the scene for the main room. Followed by Pete French, Dave Rimmer, leon Brown, Pete Lyster and then the mighty Moldie taking on the last spot of the night. I have got to applaud Moldie for a fantastic set with floor packed at what is a difficult time of the night and I am so pleased that so many people stayed for his set. A big thanks go out to all of the Djs for their fantastic sets.
I spent the rest of the night flitting between both rooms and probably spent more time on this occasion in the TOD room. A fantastic atmosphere all night and we finished at just before 6.30 in the TOD room. Top sets from all of the Djs and big thanks go out to our guest Gospel Bob and thanks for playing the Chimes for me. Thanks to Des and Adam for their help in getting the TOD room to where we are now and for your help on saturday.
Would like to thank Barry from Bristol for his help prior to the event and for his company on Saturday, when I managed to find 5 minutes for a sit down and take in some tunes.
Hope to see you all at the next allnighter on the weekend of May 11/12th.
Best Regards
Mike

My Pleasure Mike, it was a Pearl of an evening mate, and as with most 'Pearls- 'Shooting High' is the way forward for future Glos allnighters.
Was also good on the night to see some great dancing displays from 'Newcomers' - 'The whole worlds a picture show' I reckon. (Waiting for the you tube footage- if Mighty Moldie or others had indeed recorded any of the event).
Shall have to find more time to talk at a future event when you are not so busy Mike.
Congratulations again, for such an excellent night.
Best wishes Barry

The mighty Moldie gets mightier!
Reflecting on the recent allnighter at Glos Mike, and after trawling through some of my old souvenirs, I have still got my 'Soul Gloucester' badge from the 1970's (amongst others) - rescued from my discarded 'Cortland Auto Company' bowling shirt many years ago. Certainly have experienced some good times and it's great to reminisce eh?
Looking forward to many future events at Glos and SWSC.
Best wishes Barry

I was not aware of your expertise at playing crap and cards mate but Betty Everett would have said you were the 'Prince of Players'. I thought you certainly played your cards right on the night Moldie and it was nice to see you...to see you, nice....
With regard to the crap on both decks...Did you notice Tony Northern was 'covered with money'? ha ha!
In Bill Moss style, I thought you would 'sock it to 'em soul brother'... and you certainly did.
I knew Mike Eskins had a Ton of dynamite upstairs but was more aware of the 'sticks of dynamite' having a ball downstairs...as they say..'it's football baby'.
Well done on the vid mate, Betty Baker would say...'Just what the Doctor ordered'.
Listened to Glos FM yesterday.... Leon Brown's show.....Talcum Powder Soul... if you did not listen in, some great sounds from a great guy.
Shall catch up at the next event mate.
Best wishes Barry

With regards to Soul Bros.Inc. I know someone down in Dorset who has just got a copy. Paid a fair bit for it as well. Not being funny but too "wishy washy" for me,but, each to their own Dave.
