Hey guys, I've been doing some research and found a couple of venues that are just asking for an allnighter! First, there's the Plymouth Guildhall. With a 500 (standing) capacity and sprung, polished Canadian maple dance floor in the main room (complete with balcony!). Then theres the lower hall with a 200 capacity (standing), perhaps perfect for a modern room? Then theres a lounge with a bar to top it all off! Don't know the rates but I'll contact them to find out! Then there's the Devonport Guildhall, I don't know much about this one except the rates which are 55 quid an hour plus an extra ten pounds after hours and on weekends. Also the hall has some kind of polished wood floor, but I dont know iits sprung. (website here: devonportguildhall.realideas.org/node/606 ). These venues have alot of potential and I hope they might get used in the future! I'd set something up myself but 'Im only little' haha.

IN MAY 2008 THEY WAS A SOUL EVENT AT THE GUILDHALL - THE PLACE IS EXPENSIVE TO HIRE AND BY THE TIME THE SOULIES (THE LOCAL PLYMOUTH SOULIES WERE OUT IN FORCE) HAD PAID IN, THE COST OF MARKETING, EQUIPMENT - THE DJ'S DIDNT TAKE MUCH OF A FEE AND THE HIRE COSTS THERE WAS NO PROFIT AND POSSIBLY A LOSS MADE. CANNOT COMMENT ON DEVONPORT BUT DO THE MATHS FOR THE HIRE PLUS THE EQUIPMENT, MARKETING AND DJ'S THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH SOULIES TO EVEN BREAK EVEN. NOT ENOUGH SOULIES WILLING TO TRAVEL TO PLYMOUTH TO MAKE THESE EXPENSIVE BUT LOVELY VENUES WORK. YOU WILL JUST HAVE TO TRAVEL TOM OOP NORTH WHERE KEV CAN FILL THE KINGS HALL TO CAPACITY EVERY TIME OR MAYBE WESTON SUPER MARE IN AUGUST.

Yer that was my worry, I was hoping, with the right promotion, that some might travel but I recon you're probably right

KEEP LOOKING THOUGH YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU MAY FIND WITHIN STRIKING DISTANCE AND YOU CAN MAKE THAT SAD FACE INTO A SMILEY ONE.

If its an allnighter you are after you can always pop up to Gloucester. We manage to pack them in at a nice venue and a lot closer than Kings Hall.
